Inside Renewable Energy- April 12, 2007

Developing nations are some of the most important players in the fight against climate change. As countries like China and India grow rapidly, it is necessary that they meet as much of their energy needs with renewables as possible. It’s a difficult task, but it must be done, says Dr. Bob Watson, Chief Scientist and Director for Environmentally and Socially Sustainable Development at the World Bank.

Dr. Watson talks with us about how to lower greenhouse gas emissions in developing countries through a global financial vehicle. Dr. Watson was also Chair of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change from 1996-2002, so he’ll describe how awareness of climate change has changed over the last few years.
